A couple years ago, we planted a small patch of cotton from Sally Fox’s colorful varieties. We were stunned to find that some of it came out red, and carefully saved those seeds apart from the rest (a mix of browns, greens, and white). This year, I was so excited to try and grow some of the red, but none of it germinated. We’ll still have a beautiful mix of colors with what did come up.

After the rains started, the plants have been hit by some kind of disease (notice the spotted leaves in the picture on the right). It doesn’t seem to be affecting the cotton at all.
