I’m a scholar-practitioner of textile crafts (in other words, I play with string literally and conceptually). I hold a B.A in Anthropology and M.S in Textiles, both from UC Davis, and am certified by the American Sheep Industry Association as a Level 1 Wool Classer.
I’ve been spinning, weaving, knitting, and messing with plant-based dyes since somewhere around 2006. In 2015 I began training as a wool classer; that experience forms the basis for my thesis about the California wool industry. My research interests encompass material and social aspects of textiles, including craft, place, and embodied knowledge.
