With the nomad camping escapade cut short, we headed back towards Keylong and stopped in a guesthouse in Patsio for the night. As far as I could tell, Patsio consists of the guesthouse, the house of the guy who runs the guesthouse, and a weather research station. The guesthouse had 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with no running water (also no electricity). We set up a camp kitchen in the corner of the hallway and had aloo mattar with fresh peas from the garden next door. The next day we walked through the grounds of the research station and out into boulder-strewn fields of sorrel and dandelions. We took turns pumping water from the well to wash dishes and shampoo hair. A lovely, brief interlude between adventures.
